Copyright Law

It is illegal and unethical for First Draft Custom Home Design to copy another architect's or designer's work.  Please do not request a few changes to an existing plan you have found on the internet or picked up at an open house unless you have permission (in writing) from the copyright holder.  However, feel free to send a minimun of three different plans you like as a reference for creating an original design.

The Process

To get started, hit the "let's get started" link at the bottom of this page.  There you can fill out a form that gives me a pretty good idea of what you are looking for.  I will review it and contact you through email within two business days and ask you a lot of follow up questions and schedule a phone call to make sure we are all on the same page.  Once we both feel we know what we are to design, I will send you another email that states precisely what i will be delivering to you, how much it will cost, and when i will have it to you.  a link for online payment will be included, and once payment is received, the project is "live".  I will deliver the design in pdf form for your approval, you ask for changes, we go through the 1 1/2 revisions and you have a custom designed home.

What is "1 1/2 Revisions?"

Sometimes I nail it on the first try, more often things will need to be tweaked.  One full revision is included in the original price, plus a "half" a revision.  A full revision can mean starting over from scratch, a half a revision may mean moving a few walls and changing a few doors.  However, it is only a revision when the original design program is still adhered to.  Changing the number of bedrooms, increasing the square footage or changing the style of house is changing the project and will incur additional charges.

if you want to take your design to the next level, i can help with that as well.  perhaps you would like interior elevations, site planning, a set for permit or complete construction documents.  Please feel free to visit me at  mb design services, llc to continue working together.
